Courmayeur Ski Resort Guide (Alt 1224m)

Set against the stunning backdrop of Mont Blanc, the Italian mountain town of Courmayeur offers sensational views as well as great skiing.  An old village at heart, Courmayeur's warren of narrow streets and cobbled piazzas raditate warmth whatever the season; its typical cafes, restaurants and boutiques abuzz with a varied and international crowd.  Access to the slopes is via a large 130 person cablecar, located on the edge of the resort and reachable by bus from the town centre.  With just over 100 kilometers of marked pistes, Courmayeur's ski terrain may be somewhat limited in comparison to that of neighbouring French ski resort Chamonix, but beginners and intermediate level skiers will find enough to amuse themselves for a good few days.  Advanced level skiers will also find some great off piste, along with opportunities for heliskiing and boarding.
