La Plagne Ski Resort Guide (Alt. 1250-3250m)

Although it is generally referred to by the one resort name, La Plagne is actually made up of six resorts, all of which are located at different altitudes and confusingly, bear the name 'Plagne' in one form or another.  At 1800, Plagne is a small, traditional mining village turned ski resort; next up the hill, 1970s Plagne Bellecote (1930 metres) is a purpose built village, constructed in a horseshoe shape hugging the mountain.  Plagne Centre, at 1970 metres, forms the heart of the resort and is the place where you will find the majority of tourist amenities, including the tourist information office.  Go higher again and you'll reach Plagne Soleil and Belle Plagne (2050 metres), both popular with the apres ski crowd, then finally, Aime La Plagne at 2100 metres.  The 'many facets of La Plagne' came about as the result of regeneration project launched during the early 1960s.
