La Rosiere Ski Resort Guide (Alt. 1850m)

Located in the Haute Tarentaise region of the Alps, purpose built La Rosiere is a friendly, family orientated resort modelled in a traditional Alpine style.  Part of the Espace St Bernando, La Rosiere is also unique in that that it offers an international ski area with a direct link to Italy and the Italian resort of La Thuile.   With super strength espressos and real Italian pizza on the lunchtime menu, the appeal of this destination extends to anyone with a real taste for international cuisine, as well as those who flock here to take advantage of the region's heliskiing opportunities - heliskiing is illegal in France.  La Rosiere itself was built during the 1980s in a style sympathetic to its Alpine surroundings.  The traditionally constructed slate, wood and stone clad chalets that characterise the resort are all orientated south, in order to soak up the afternoon sun.  La Rosiere is holder of the 'Famille Plus Montagne' label, owing to the numerous services and facilities available to children.
