Opened during the early 1990s, tiny Ste Foy rapidly developed a huge repuatation as a cult off-piste destination for skiers and boarders; its unique ski area comprising of four chairlifts, 25 kilometres of downhill runs and in excess of 800ha of easily accessible ski terrain. The last 'new' resort to be built in the Tarentaise region of the Alps, Ste Foy lies within easy striking distance of many major ski resorts including Les Arcs, Tignes and Val d'Isere, making it a handy and inexpensive base for daytime forrays into
Paradiski and
Espace Killy. Ste Foy itself is a predominatly modern development built in keeping with traditional Alpine style, consisting of stone and wood clad chalets and a small yet satisfactory selection of restaurants and bars. A favourite with families and Alp Line drivers, Ste Foy is an approximate two and a half hour transfer from Geneva Airport.
